Carmen Miranda-Tico tico no fubá Instrumental

Just a tidbit, back in the 1940's we who lived in Framingham had a rage of platform shoes with wedge heels...and this is who was responsible for it...I had to find a film that showed her shoes...look carefully, at her shoes and the many styles.
Imagine a 6th grader 5'7"  wearing 3 -4 inch heels....the boys became midgets....(boys often don't reach full height by 6 grade)

A Precious Place, memories of Mom and another world

A poem I wrote for my Mom while attending Framingham State College, back in the 1970's, when she was still alive.  When I read it today, I catapulted back to 604 Hollis Street, Framingham , Mass. It captured so many memories for me in just a few lines.  Yes, memories are always there,  those childhood days when I looked out the window to see the coal man putting coal in the shute to the basement coal bin, or the day I saw and realized what a rag man was.  Oh, yes, walking thru a dark ice house in the long ago with my friends....so many memories, I tried to capture in a poem.  My books have poems in them, and both of them will bring you back to a world no longer known.  A glimpse of what life was like just a mere 1/2 Century ago.  How the world has changed!

 A Precious Place

Childhood is a precious place
In its closed confines
I still see my Mother's
    Lovely face

"How much do you love me?"
"A bushel and a peck and
A hug around the neck!"

Years are darkening
The sliver of light, yet
The glory lives on
In eternal night.

Small Town Framingham, we supported the hockey team in their Boston playoff

When I was wearing Mike Curley's sweater...fall of 1951 at a Framingham High School Hockey Game at the Garden.
Teenage styles...Lois Hogan, on my right has her cheerleader's sweater on.  We all had bobby socks on, note the reindeer sweater on Paula to the right.. and the two sweaters on Carole and Maureen  who are in between Paula and me....those where high style , many many years ago...

Class of 1951 prom, Framingham , Mass, Nevins Hall with parents observing from balcony

Here is the full picture of the class of 1951 High school prom, Seniors graduating  Barry Waters, with his future wife Carol Reichert a junior are in the front row,  The balcony is full of parents watching the prom.  My Mom and Dad were there, it was the last dance with Dad, he died in the fall of that year, leaving me to finish high school while mourning his loss to our family.  It was a difficult year for us.

Madlyn  Pizzeri Fox ,( now Madlyn Fafard) first teaching experience Grade 6, Natick Mass., and I was in love.  Everyone of my "kids" had my heart.    Where are my wonderful "kids" from my teaching days, Tommy Sellew stands out on the left side of the picture...where is Martha Flood?

This picture was taken by a school photography company or I never would have a picture of those days...So remember now with your cell phones to take pictures of the days you want to hold dear!

First, Di Cenzo family reunion , Framingham, Forresters Club, 1964

You can put your cursor on this to englarge it....Meggie the dying mother in my first novel, driting between life and death tells the stories of love, joy and sadness that she encounters while between worlds and encounted while in the world of matter.
She instructs her daughter to look for a chest, buried within she will find more....so I went looking through my home and found a box of old files, that was full of tears and smiles.  Unraveling a life of memories, brings deep aches for loved ones lost, and smiles for the good times.  We all have them!
The date on the reverse side of this is August 14, 1964
